Mystique 2019 was a Global Wearable Technology Fashion Show that took place on the 6th of October 2019. The participants were people from all over the world who brought their own wearable technology designs on the runway. The event was coordinated by the Tech4Future Director, Dr. Gabriela Raducan. The team was entirely made of volunteers who did this out of passion and dedication.
The show promoted interdisciplinary global collaborations and encouraged students to join Data Science, ICT and STEM fields in general, and marked 10 years of IEEE Day Celebrations. The participants' work was displayed at a real Fashion Show, with a showcase of the designs on the runway in a beautiful setting at La Trobe University Union Hall.
Our team has been assisting people (for free) to create their own technical designs that were showcased on the day.
In Australia, our team has run a series of workshops and hackathons that culminated with a showcase of the designs. We were very excited to bring together people from a broad range of disciplines and to contribute to shaping the future of our young generations.

Anyone who wished to participate with a design in the show, to be a model or an entertainer,
was welcome to do so. We had 3 amazing singers and 2 dancers, apart from the talented models that wore the designs. They all contributed as volunteers.

The video below shows the designs of the children from the St. James Primary School, Brighton (Melbourne, Australia). Our team worked with the children (starting from grade 3), parents and teachers, in order to help them create their own designs.
Tech4Future was proud to partner for this event with La Trobe University, IEEE La Trobe Student Branch, ESOLU (Engineering Society Of La Trobe University), IEEE Young Professionals Victorian Section, LIEF (La Trobe Innovation and Entrepreneurship Foundry) and the IEEE Day 2019 team.
We would also like to acknowledge and thank our collaborators, Banyule Nillumbik Tech School and Whittlesea Tech School, for hosting our volunteers to teach students and teachers how to create their own designs for the show.
